Screening for Shorting Opportunities ๐Ÿ“‰

Not every chart needs a trade. Sometimes the job is simply to identify where the risk/reward starts becoming interesting. While screening for potential shorting opportunities, I came across this setup. The idea was to combine market structure + liquidity + imbalance + trend rather than short simply because price was falling. ๐Ÿ” What caught my attention? 1️⃣ Bearish structure Price had already experienced a strong decline and was trading below a downward-sloping moving average. That suggested that the broader momentum was still favouring sellers. 2️⃣ Equal High = liquidity above The Equal High marked on the chart is an area I would watch closely. Rather than assuming resistance will hold, I look at clustered highs as a potential area of buy-side liquidity. A move toward or through that area can become important when assessing a potential reversal. 3️⃣ IFVG — potential resistance The purple Inverse Fair Value Gap (IFVG) becomes the key area I'm watching. If price retraces into this z...

Ecom Intelligence Engine - Case Study

๐Ÿ“Š Case Study

How a D2C Fashion Brand Used EIE to Enter a ₹2,400 Cr Category — and Win.

A mid-stage D2C ethnic wear brand used Ecommerce Intelligence Engine to go from guessing to data-backed decisions — cutting research time by 80% and launching 3 profitable product lines in 90 days.

3× Faster Market Entry
80% Less Research Time
₹18L Revenue in 90 Days
92% Sell-Through Rate
The Brand

A Growing D2C Ethnic Wear Label Based in Jaipur

The brand had built a loyal customer base in block-printed kurtas sold through their own website and Instagram. Revenue had plateaued at ₹35L/month. The founder wanted to expand into marketplace sales — but had no structured way to understand what the competitive landscape actually looked like.

The Problem

Manual Research Was Costing Them Time, Money and Confidence

Before EIE, the team spent 2–3 days every week manually browsing marketplace listings, screenshotting competitor products, and copying prices into spreadsheets. Despite the effort, they kept running into the same problems:

Before EIE
  • 12+ hours/week on manual competitor research
  • Launched products at wrong price points — 40% markdown within 6 weeks
  • Entered a subcategory already dominated by 8 established brands
  • No visibility into which price bands had low competition
  • Missed a ₹999–₹1,499 segment gap that a competitor filled first
After EIE
  • 2 hours/week — automated competitive intelligence
  • Priced 3 new lines within market sweet spots — zero markdowns in first 90 days
  • Entered an underserved sub-category identified by EIE gap analysis
  • Clear price band mapping showed ₹1,299–₹1,799 had high demand, low supply
  • First-mover advantage in a segment EIE flagged 6 weeks before competitors noticed
How They Used EIE

From Category Scan to Profitable Launch in 4 Phases

The founder worked with EIE's intelligence layer to systematically de-risk the marketplace entry — replacing intuition with structured data at every decision point.

Week 1–2 Market Scan Mapped 4,200+ products across 86 brands in ethnic wear on a leading fashion marketplace. Identified price distribution, brand density and rating patterns.
Week 3 Gap Identification EIE surfaced a gap: cotton-blend kurta sets between ₹1,299–₹1,799 with 4.3+ ratings had only 12 SKUs vs. 340+ SKUs in the ₹799–₹999 range.
Week 4–6 Product Design Designed 3 collections targeting the gap — priced at ₹1,399, ₹1,549 and ₹1,699 based on competitive price band analysis.
Week 7–12 Launch & Track Launched on the marketplace. Used EIE to monitor competitor response, track new entrants and adjust positioning. 92% sell-through in 90 days.
The Key Insight

The ₹1,299–₹1,799 Gap Was Hiding in Plain Sight

The ethnic wear category had 4,200+ products on the marketplace — but the distribution was heavily skewed. Over 60% of SKUs were clustered in the ₹499–₹999 band (high competition, thin margins). The ₹1,299–₹1,799 band had strong customer demand (visible through ratings and reviews on similar products) but only 12 active SKUs from 3 brands. EIE's pricing intelligence made this gap visible in minutes — something that would have taken weeks of manual research to uncover, if it was noticed at all.

"We were about to launch at ₹899 because that's where everyone else was. EIE showed us that the ₹1,299–₹1,799 segment had almost no competition but strong demand signals. That one insight changed our entire marketplace strategy — and our margins."

— Founder, D2C Ethnic Wear Brand, Jaipur
The Results

What Changed in 90 Days

Within three months of the marketplace launch, the brand achieved ₹18 lakh in marketplace revenue from 3 product lines — with a 92% sell-through rate and zero markdowns. Research time dropped from 12+ hours per week to under 2 hours. The team now uses EIE to monitor the category weekly — tracking new competitor entries, price movements and emerging gaps before planning the next collection.

The Role of Valuations in Trading: Intrinsic Valuation vs. Relative Valuation

Valuation is a crucial asp ect of trading that helps investors assess the worth of a financial instrument, such as stocks, bonds, or commodities.  By determining the fair value of an asset, traders can make informed decisions regarding buying, selling, or holding positions.  There are two primary approaches to valuation: intrinsic valuation and relative valuation.  In this blog post, we will delve into these two methods and explore their roles in the trading world. ๐Ÿ›‘Stop Loss - How Swing Traders Should Place Their Stop Loss.

Ideal Stop Loss for Swing Traders - Factors to Consider ⚖️ 1️⃣ When determining the ideal stop loss for a swing trade, it's important to consider several factors. One key factor is the price point on the chart that, if broken, could indicate a possible trend reversal. However, this alone is not sufficient. Let's dive into the other factors to consider.  2️⃣ Long-Term Trend: Analyze the stock's long-term trend. Is it in an uptrend, downtrend, or moving sideways? Understanding the overall direction of the stock can help you determine an appropriate stop loss level. 3️⃣ Phase of the Stock: Evaluate the phase of the stock. Is it in a contraction, expansion, or sideways phase? Different phases have different levels of volatility and risk. Adjust your stop loss accordingly to account for the stock's current phase. 4️⃣ Stock Average Daily Range: Consider the stock's average daily range. This metric indicates how much the stock typically moves within a day. Set your stop lo...
